ARMENIAN HERITAGE CRUISE COMMITTEE
From all over the United States, individuals have volunteered to work on this fabulous event. Each area of the country and even Europe is represented. Dedicated individuals working to enhance the Armenian Community. Proceeds from this cruise is given to the Armenian Cultural Association of America, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that primairly assist in Armenian research, culural events, and especially provides primary assistance to the Armenian language newspapers.

Vasken Aivazian has been associated with the Armenian Cultural Association of America and its affiliated organizations for most of his life. Vasken graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL in 1964. In 1966 he graduated from the Cambridge University Law school in London, England. His father, Aram Aivazian, was the former President of Shell Oil Corporation in the Middle East and is author of many books on Armenian history. Vasken married his wife Berjouhi (A Dentist) in 1969. They have two sons, Aram and Chris. Aram is also a dentist in Chicago and manages their second dental office in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
After law school at Cambridge University in England, he joined the Federal Reserve of Chicago where he worked in management until his early retirement in 1996. Vasken Aivazian was the Chairman of the ACAA and Board Member of the ANC and ARF for many years. While Chairman of the Armenian Cultural Association, the Armenian Heritage Cruise concept was developed. Working with the original organizers, Angele Manoogian & Azad Merian, as Chairman of the ACAA, he promoted the cruise idea and initial events. With his guidance and encouragement, the Armenian Heritage Cruise continued and has now been a distinct event in the Armenian social scene.
Jim Kzirian is the Vice Chairman of the Armenian Heritage Cruise Executive Committee. Jim Kzirian has been involved with the Armenian Cultural Association and associated organizations most of his life. He was a member of the Armenian Youth Federation (Youth Organization of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation) from age 18 – 28. He was Chairman of the AYF Eastern Region USA Central Executive for four years from 2005 – 2008. He is a member of the Philadelphia ARF and was treasurer of the Executive from 2011 – 2013. Jim has has held various other organizational leadership positions including Chairman of the AYF Olympic games (the largest Armenian Youth gathering on the East Coast), Chairman of the 2013 ANCA Eastern Region Banquet, and Executive Committee member of the Armenian Heritage Cruise from 2014 – 2016. He has been involved with the Armenian Heritage Cruise for over 12 years.
Jim was born in Newton, Massachusetts, but moved to the Philadelphia area at a young age. He attended the Armenian Sisters Academy in Radnor, an outstanding Armenian daily school that helps Armenian children to learn their language, culture, and history. Following Armenian School, Jim attended a Philadelphia area public high school, after which he attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Jim has been consulting in the field of executive compensation for over 15 years, since graduating and works with many of the world’s largest organizations in setting their executive compensation packages.
Jim is married to his wonderful wife Nora whom he met while working on staff at Camp Haiastan. The two recently had their first baby, Tavit Antranig, who had his first cruise on the AHC 2016. Jim looks forward to many years of involvement to keep the cruise strong and growing with participation and support of the future generations.

Bedros Bandazian was born in Richmond, Virginia and attended the Richmond Public School system. After graduating from the Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Business & Accounting, he entered into the accounting profession. In 1974 the real estate firm of Bandazian & Co. was formed and its speciality is Property Management and Commerical Investment in the urban real estate market of Richmond, Virginia.
He is married to the former Stella Georges for almost 35 years and they have three sons, Khoren II, Raffi and Diran. Khoren’s wife is the former Lucie Kouyumdjian and they have given the grandparents two lovely grandaughters, Ana & Ema. Khoren is a licensed attorney in New York & New Jersey. Raffi Bandazian works with Goldman Sachs on Wall Street and has just formed an Armenian entertainment production company called, BANDAZ PRODUCTIONS. Raffi is married to the former Elizabeth Kilercjian. Diran is a C.P.A. and in presently working for the Disney Corp. as a financial officer in their Burbank, California corporate home office. Diran recently married the lovely, Houri Kupelian.
Bedros Bandazian is a member of the ACAA Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Armenian Heritage Cruise Commitee. Active in the Democratic Party of Virginia and former member of the Armenian National Commitee Board. A member of St. James Armenian Church in Richmond, Virginia and former Parish Council Chairman, Diocesean Delegate, Managing Trustee for the St. James Armenian Church Endowment Funds, the ACAA Endowment Funds and the Hairenik Endowment Funds. The Governor of Virginia has just appointed Bedros Bandazian as Chairman of the Virginia Armenia Advisory Commission. This is the first commission of its type in the United States.
With the help and dedication of Committee members throughout the United States, Bedros Bandazian has enjoyed being part of the Armenian Heritage Cruise.

Antranik Boudakian was born in Aleppo, Syria and educated at the Hagazian School. Moved to the United States at a very young age in 1964. He is a member of the St. Sarkis Armenian Church in New York and on its Board of Trustees.
In 1971 he opened a jewelry business in Forest Hill, New York under the name of Lorill Jewelers. A few years later a second store was opened in Springfield, Massachusetts. A distinguished member of the American Gem Society and Forest Hill Civic Association. Most active with the The Armenian Prelacy and on the Prelacy Endowment Fund Committee.
A political activist for the Armenian Cause and a recognized humanitarian. Married in 1965 to the former Mariam Marashian. Mariam is most helpful with the Armenian Heritage Cruise and assists in promotional activities. They have three children Lisa, Seta and Greg. Seta and Greg are in the jewelry business with their father.
Antranig’s dedication and support is one of the driving forces of the Armenian Heritage Cruise. With his ever reaching ability into the Armenian Communites, our cruise has become a real happening on the Armenian social scene.
His support of the Armenian National Committee activities in the New York Area has proven invaluable. He never tires and is available 24 hours a day to help.

Arpi Bostajian-Ashkarian was born in Beirut, Lebanon and attended the Private Armenian/French Schools of St. Paul and Hripsimiants. In her teens her family moved to Dubai where her late father had opened a steel forming business. Arpi helped her father in his business and earned professional business skills managing the office.
After finishing High school in Dubai, her family sent her to Marseilles, France where she stayed almost a year taking French Language courses. In 1986, Arpi graduated from
BUC ( Beirut University College) in Lebanon with Computer Science and Business degrees.
Arpi Bostajian-Ashkarian is married to George Ashkarian and has two children, Joseph and Marie-Rose. Her son, Joseph Ashkarian is a Civil Engineer, and is married to the former Amy Taylor. Her daughter, Marie-Rose Ashkarian, is a graduate of Aveda Hair School, and is married to Saro Sarmazian.
In 2001, Arpi moved to Canada to join the rest of her family. Arpi and her husband George immediately started work at Grandview Homes owned by her brother, Garo Bostajian. After continuing her education at Conestoga College, Arpi was promoted to Administrative Controller of the Grandview Homes. Her job as the Property Manager of the buildings built and owned by the company demands extensive administrative and accounting skills required in the housing business. Her husband George is the Service Manager of the same Company.
Currently living in Cambridge, Ontario, Arpi has been involved with the Cambridge Armenian Center, Cambridge Homenetmen Executive Committee and participated in many Regional meetings held in Toronto and Montreal as Delegate. In 2013, she was elected a Parish Council Member for St. Nishan Church in Cambridge and currently serves as its Vice Chairman.
In 2007, Arpi joined the AHC committee and has served as AHC Ambassador for Canada since 2009. In January 2014 she was appointed to the AHC Executive Committee. Among her many duties for the AHC Committee, she serves as a member In the AHC Entertainment Committee and the Director of the AHC Advertising & Marketing.
Arpi is presently continuing her education and is enrolled in Social Psychology Program.

Richard Berberian was born and raised in the Boston area and is a second generation Armenian American. He currently resides in North Andover, MA with his wife Christine. Together they have two children, Haig and Elyse, who are both professionals working and residing in the Boston area.
Richard’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell; Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; Doctor of Education from Boston University, and Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America.
On the professional side, from 1981-1998 Richard was the President and CEO of IAN Multi-Media Group, with operations in Burlington, MA and Teterboro, NJ. The company was sold in 1998 and after a brief retirement, Richard transitioned to his current business interests in the diamond and jewelry trade. He also enjoys being an Adjunct Professor in Music Business/Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
With his broad educational and professional background, Richard is still best known to his fellow Armenians as an accomplished musician, performer and recording artist. He has performed on oud and sung traditional Armenian music throughout the United States for over 40 years, and has appeared as a featured performer on the Armenian Heritage Cruise for many years.
Richard Berberian’s other Armenian related activities include being an Executive Committee Member of the ACAA Armenian Heritage Cruise, a member of the Council of Armenian Executives, Boston, MA; Knights of Vartan, Ararat Lodge #1, Boston and Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Lowell, MA. He is a past Board Member of the Armenian Library and Museum of America and St. Gregory Armenian Church of N. Andover, MA.

Sebouh Asatoorian was born in Hamadan Iran and moved to United States in 1958 to pursue higher education. He attended University of Missouri, Columbia, MO and earned Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Structural Engineering in 1963.
He has worked continuously on several fields of engineering and currently is employed by US Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration, Washington, DC as Chief, Technical Services Division for multibillion transit projects nationwide.
He is married to Maro Asatoorian from Beirut Lebanon since 1969 and has two married sons Raffi and Ara and two beautiful granddaughters.
Sebouh Asatoorian has been involved with many Armenian organizations, since 1968 including Armenian Revolutionary Federation as chairman and member, Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church Bethesda Maryland, as Board member and National Representative several times in the past, and Homenetmen as Chairman and member since 1968 in Washington, DC.
He has attended Armenian Heritage Cruise for the last 16 years most of it as Director of Security. As a hobby he plays tennis and has been refereeing soccer since 1974, college, high school, and semi international leagues in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and Homenetmen Olympics.
