In February 2009, Robert Avetisyan was appointed Permanent Representative of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to the United States. In April 2011, he was appointed on concurrent Artsakh’s Representative to Canada, residence in Washington, D.C. 2008 to 2009, Robert served as Counselor at the NKR Office in the United States. From 1999 to 2008, he served in Artsakh Foreign Ministry’s analytical and political departments. Avetisyan holds bachelor’s degree in philology from Artsakh State University, and master’s degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Boston, USA. H was born in Stepanakert, Artsakh.
